KoalaThey sleep 75% of the day (I can't decide if that sounds boring or lovely), so we were glad to catch them awake.Comments

Panda SonThis "little" guy is two years old and was quite restless. Better than viewing just a bottom.

CondorsI'm sure many of the remember back in the 80s when the condors made big news because they were almost extinct. Conservation efforts have successfully helped this species grow.

Sky TramAbe and I took the Sky Tram across the park. Mike was nice enough to walk a very grumpy April (who then took a much needed nap) and met us at the polar bears.Comments

Polar BearsAbe is standing in front of a one-year old cub statue which stands at 5 feet tall. The full-sized adult male behind is at 10 feet tall. Impressive.Comments

Poles MeltingIncredible to see how quickly the ice on our poles is melting. Sad too when you realize the effect it is and will continue have on the polar bear population (not to mention the rest of the animal kingdom, including humans).Comments

Extinct American LionI still can't get over the size of this thing. The skull picture is comparing the American Lion with the existing African Lion. And the statue Abe is sitting on is life-sized. LIFE-SIZED!!Comments

Big BirdThis is another life-sized statue of an extinct bird. Check out the size!! Is it wrong to say that I'm a little glad it's extinct? Probably.Comments

Big DaddyWe saw him once on the bus tour and once while touring on foot. He hadn't moved and sat there just swinging his head. We saw a couple animals that seemed a bit on the "loony" side - acting a little bizarre.Comments

"Camel, camel... Come here!"I really wanted a picture of this big boy and he wasn't cooperating. So we all starting calling him. Every once in awhile April will still break out into, "Camel, camel... Come here!"Comments

AslanI can't help but think of Narnia when I see this picture. Looks like the kids are riding Aslan (although in my mind Aslan is quite a bit bigger).Comments
