I can't remember if she was on the sedative yet or not; she looks pretty drugged here to me, but it could just be exhaustion setting in.

This was Wednesday and the anethesia was starting to wear off. I'm sure she's just feeling better now that the breathing tube is out!

Big Bed

Nurse Kobi was so great to get a big bed so I could be with her. I don't know how it would have worked otherwise; I wasn't allowed to leave her side (not that I wanted to!).

PICU Nurses

Of our 4 days in the hospital 3 of them were spent in the PICU. Our nurses there have a special place in my heart for all the time and care they put into her. They all were amazing. Our nurse for days 0 and most of 1 was Kobi (left) and Alice (right) for the rest of day 1.

April was pretty cautious of everyone entering the room, but on Friday she seemed to lighten up a bit. (It may have had to do with them removing those chest tubes.) April LOVED Debbie. Lots of smiles and laughs.

Grandpa Roger came too of course. He was in town taking care of Abe while we were in the hospital. April took very quickly to Grampy and was very happy to see him!

IMCU

At 7pm on Friday night they transfered us to the Intermediate Care Unit. Once there, April decided she was tired of the bed and wanted to GO! While the major lines were removed, she was still hooked up to some monitoring her heart and oxygen level, so her walking around didn't work too well. However, they let us take a wagon ride. I think we did about 10 laps around the unit!

Grandpa Roger and Abe were buds all week. Of course, they don't have any pictures of them to show for it. They did take a trek downtown to the Children's Museum to see the new dinosaur exhibit.
