We hiked up for two nights to Crater Lake just under the Maroon Bells. These particular mountains are way overdone, photographically speaking. The Maroon Lake is accessible by wheelchair, so anyone who wants to take the same picture of Maroon Bells that everyone in history has taken, can do it without any effort. We, however, hiked up to the upper lake with many more pounds of camera gear than should ever be carried, and were rewarded with this scene. Wow. Even if we didn't have cameras, the whole trip to Colorado would have been worth it just for this. The shot is a stitch of four verticals, so it's quite a bit higher quality that is typical of most of my shots. The stitching software didn't do a perfect job of things however, so I might work with this a bit before printing.
We like to call this shot "Double Reminder."
