Near the start of the Hancock 4x4 trail, the old railroad track bed runs up the side of the mountain to a now-collapsed tunnel. We hiked up the old railroad bed in the rain to see the old tunnel location, and found more flowers here than anywhere else on our trip. Many of them were growing straight out the side wall of the cliff. On the way back we came within 20 yards of a large elk!
