2006-03-13 Pelicans

For some reason, I always thought of pelicans as being endangered. I guess they're not, based on the numbers we saw. The cool thing about them is that they fly about forty feet up right along the ten foot sand bank that forces the off-shore winds up at that point. They don't have to flap their wings at all.

You're thinking of whooping cranes. http://www.portaransas.org/cranes.html
