Trick-or-Treat
Given the craziness of our schedule on Halloween day (see previous blog), I wasn't sure if trick-or-treating was going to be part of our evening. We'd already had a very long day, and if the two year old wasn't in the mood, I wasn't going to push it. Much to my delight, Abe totally wanted to go and even got dressed up in his costume - I'm sure the promise of candy had EVERYTHING to do with both of those. I was impressed with how well he did. He walked up to the houses without me having to carry him. Then I would knock, and when they answered he'd say, very shyly but sweetly, "Twick-or-tweet." And he'd always thank them when we left.
Even more amazing was that after such a crazy day and just getting back that evening from vacation, with the time change and not to mention the sugar, Abe insisted on sleeping in his big boy bed. He's been doing naps there for the two weeks before we left on vacation, but never at night, until Halloween night. He went almost right to sleep, and it wasn't until 5:30am (4:30 with the time change) that his shadow graced our bedroom door. Even then, he crawled in with us and slept for another one and a half hours. And as I type this, he is again sleeping in his big boy bed with out any troubles at all. I don't think it's premature for me to say that I think we're done with him sleeping in a crib!! Now if only potty-training goes this smoothly...
Love that picture of Abe!
What a great picture! Seriously, the top pic is amazing.
