Abe got his first shiner today, and no, I'm not talking about the beer.

In the last month and a half Abe has started army crawling, pulling up to a standing position, and "real" crawling - in that order. We've seen him standing in his crib. This is a scary thing.

I got a call at work today from Abe's day care telling me he had taken a bit of a spill. He had pulled himself up at a low, built in shelf and then turned and did a rolling fall, nailing his right cheek bone just beneath the eye and also knocking his forehead. Double whammy for the right side of his face and his first of many, I'm guessing, black eye.

Then, tonight after his bath he was on the floor in his room playing with the door. (Apparently doors and door stops are much more exciting than I give them credit for.) He whacked himself in the face with the door, leaving the welt you see on the left side of his face. Poor kid. Doesn't phase him though; he's still happy as ever. This is his ow-my-face-hurts look.
