Update #4
The doc just stopped by since I missed them on rounds this morning. He was very pleased that Ander was able to “nipple” this morning with the bottle. Pleased and a bit surprised; he really didn’t think he would. Was also pleased that we’ve been able to nurse some.
In terms of going home he still thinks we’ll be here, overall, a full week (typical is one to two weeks with RSV; he thinks we’re closer to the one week). The key is getting him off oxygen. He said Ander will still have some respiratory distress for a month or more, so he isn’t as concerned about that as long as he can eat. Getting him off the oxygen is the key. So we just continue to wait patiently.
The doc’s parting words were, “Keep nippling.” And suddenly I turn 13 again. Giggle, giggle, blush…he said nippling…

So good to get another report! Did Mike, Kids, & Mim come up already? Not sure when to call April.
So glad he is eating!
Love you!
I was totally thinking that too, Jodi. Nippling. Use that in a sentence. Outside of the hospital, that is.
Thanks for the updates! Yay – go God! Keep it up, Ander!
I’m with you and Annie . . . I’m feeling like a 40-yo teenager. I was wondering if that was because I have an 11 yo boy now, but I can see it’s not =) (maybe he went back to his doctor friends and said, “I won the bet, I used ‘nippling’ without cracking up . . . hand over the money!”
