Elgin Tree Farm
It’s mid-October and we finally were able to get out and do something “fallish”. Mike had taken the day off of work so we loaded everyone up (including Grandma Glenda) and headed out to the Christmas Tree farm in Elgin for pumpkins and “cooler” weather activities.
Highlights from the day included the pumpkin patch, swings, a tractor ride, the animals (Abe liked that they had a llama and April loved petting the horse), a train ride, and some old trikes. Abe’s highlight was most definitely the pumpkin necklace he chose over picking out a pumpkin (sigh). They had two mazes we didn’t even touch. We could have spent hours there if it hadn’t been so warm.
I had hoped that when we got out to a farm this fall the weather would be just a tad cooler, but I guess beggers can’t be choosers. At least the high today was 90 and not high 90s. The heat always makes dressing the kids for the pictures a bit of a challenge. I rather have them in fall-type clothes, but when it’s that warm, well, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
Here are some more pictures from our time there. I had hoped to get some pumpkin pictures with Grandma, but the kids just weren’t having it. (On a side note, it’s nice to be able to post a normal blog – one that isn’t a medical update!!)

Nice place & a fun tractor ride! They just need some Post Farm homemade pumpkin donuts & apple cider:)
