Oh joy, it’s a BOY!
Yesterday we had our 20 week ultrasound. Everyone kept asking me if I had a preference, boy or girl. I truly did not; honestly all I wanted was a healthy report. With that said, I was convinced early on that it was a girl (not so much later as I’d catch myself referring to Cashew as “he” and had two dreams that it was a boy) and joked with people that I would fall off the ultrasound table if they told me it was a boy. So much for mother’s intuition! But the important thing is we got a very healthy report and for that we are so thankful to God. There was not one thing to even watch closely. Praise the LORD![Now we will go back in for a fetal echocardiogram in 4 weeks because of our recent discovery with April's heart. However, the preliminary look at Cashew's heart looked fantastic and they wouldn't be doing this second ultra sound if it wasn't for family history. Prayers that this ultrasound reveals a healthy heart would be appreciated!]
The only reason that I may slightly have been rooting for a girl is that Mike and I were in agreement on a girl name. However, when it came to boy names we were like oil and water. I am happy to report that we are doing a little better in that category and may have a first name picked out! As an aside, I’ve always liked the idea of being able to tell the kids what their names would have been if they had been the opposite gender (maybe it’s because I know my name would have been Jason), and was a little sad that I wouldn’t have been able to provide Cashew with that information. Well, now I can do that! In case you are all curious, if Cashew would have been a girl the name would have been Abigail Nicole. If April had been a boy the name would have been Benjamin (middle name either Arthur or Neal), and if Abe had been a girl the name would have been Nicole Ruth.
Overall, we are just ecstatic for the healthy report and can’t wait for him to join our family (not until mid-January of course; he needs lots of cookin’ yet!)!! What a precious gift the blessing of new life is. Thank you LORD.

YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! You and I are just doing the opposite of each other- I am girl, boy, girl and you are boy, girl, boy. : )
I’m so excited for you guys and another boy!! Abe will have so much fun rough housing with a brother! We’ll keep you guys in our prayers regarding the other ultrasound. And we’ll keep praying for April too. Is her surgery scheduled?
