4 years

Well, our big guy turned a whopping four years old this month.  How in the world did that happen?  As my sweet Abe likes to remind me, “I sure am getting old, aren’t I?”  Something tells me I may have said that to him once or twice. =)

The Friday morning before his birthday we had a Lightening-themed party at our neighborhood pool.  (I have to say that this party more than any of his others was a BIG deal to him; we’ve been discussing it, on and off, for AT LEAST 6 months, maybe longer.)  Lots of friends and lots of fun.   Gifts at this age is, of course, just really super cool stuff.  I was very pleased though that when I asked him, after the party, what his favorite part about it was he replied, “Playing with my friends.”  Love, love, love.

On his actual birthday we sang “Happy Birthday” to him right when he woke up and put a birthday crown on his head, which he wore most of the day.  That evening we sang again and did another cupcake, plus a couple more gifts.
