Sibling Love

by jodi on November 20th, 2010

I’m not sure anything really prepared me for the joy of watching our kids become friends.  They are totally crazy about each other, and it is 100% mutual.  Abe is such a good big brother to April; he is always watching out for her (with toys, the TV, etc) and just loves making her smile and laugh.  April is enamored by Abe; his crazy antics and trying to keep up with him.  You can see the stars in her eyes when he is around.  They both light up when the other appears.  My heart is full.

Some quick notes about the pictures:  #1 The last couple of mornings Abe has gotten his guitar to “play for April” while she eats breakfast.  Watching him do this for his sister I can’t help but think he’s going to make some special girl out there very happy in a couple of decades.  #2  Playing peek-a-boo – Abe had been sitting at his table and April crawled across the whole kitchen/dining floor to pull up and see him.  #3  Both kids crawling on the floor, making each other laugh.  It was tough to get a good shot because I was using our little camera (too lazy to get the big one out) and they were fast!  #4  Bath time – April had hers with Abe and then she got out.  We were in the living room, but Abe was still in the bath.  She was not to be denied; crawled all the way over to see and play with him, standing first and then sitting while he handed her toys.
