Farms in the Fall

by jodi on October 26th, 2010

Sure, the highs are still in the mid-80′s, but it’s fall to us!  Last week we hit two separate farms East of Austin to celebrate, well, the fall season I guess.  Really it’s just a fun chance to get out and doing some hick-ville stuff.

ELGIN TREE FARM

On Monday (10/18) we went to Elgin Tree Farm with my friend Sarah, her three kiddos, Grammie (her mom), and Aunt Rose (her great aunt).  They let us crash their family outing.  Yes, it’s a Christmas tree farm and no, we didn’t go there for the trees.  Clearly they also have fall festivities, so that was our attraction.  Sarah had gone last year with the girls and said it was a lot of fun; she was right.  For the last couple of years, fall/Halloween pictures have been some of my favorite ones, so these photo-ops are a must for me.  Go here to see the rest of the pictures.

CROWE’S NEST FARM

Then on Friday we went to Crowe’s Nest Farm with friends Andrea and Kristin and their kiddos.  We had rain threatening, but the storms were nice enough to blow past us.  They have a lot of animals there; most of them are rescues.  The porcupine was Abe’s favorite.  We caught the end of the cow milking demonstration, enjoyed the hayride, saw a ton of animals and ran through the fairy garden.  Fun times!  Go here to see the rest of the pictures.  (Note that I didn’t take as many pictures on Friday as I did on Monday; I was a little photo’ed out.)
