Grandma Mim
The grandparents just can’t stay away and it’s always nice to have them in town to break up our routine and love on the kids. This time it was Grandma Mim who came to visit and play. This was of course Mim’s first time meeting April and what she said right when she met her I find amusing: “I don’t know you!” My first thought was, “Of course you don’t…” but I think what she was saying was she doesn’t look like anyone she knows (contrary to looking at Abe who is a Daddy-look-a-like). Mike and I both agree there is a strong resemblance between Abe and April (you can definitely tell they are siblings), but we aren’t really sure what it is – their features are very different. If I were to describe Abe I would say he looks just like Mike, but with my eyes. If I were to describe April I would say she looks just like my side of the family (not necessarily me), but gets her eyes from Mike’s side. Yet somehow they manage to look similar.
We didn’t do a whole lot while Mim was in town. Lots of eating out, chilling and some shopping. I don’t even think we made it into Austin. But it was so nice to have her here to help with the kids and talk with. Each time she comes I’m reminded of how blessed I am to have a mother-in-law that love! I know that isn’t always the case…
