4 Months

by jodi on May 28th, 2010

I’m already 4 months old and Mommy can’t believe just how fast I’m growing up.  She and Daddy keep telling me I’m the easiest baby ever; personally I don’t see what’s so hard about being a baby, but if they say so!  Grandma Mim summed up my personality perfectly – I want to be happy even when I’m not.

The one thing I have decided I don’t like is the car; Mommy and Daddy seem especially concerned about this but I’m not sure why.

The day after I turned 3 months old I rolled over for the first time and I haven’t stopped since.  I still like to be on my back, but I also like my tummy, especially when it comes to sleeping.  Mommy says since I can roll to my belly on my own that’s okay.  And speaking of sleeping, after weeks of waking only once during the night I’ve decided to wake up twice now instead.  I just love night time snacks!

Despite best efforts to the contrary, I still enjoy chewing/sucking my fingers, fist, and thumb.  (I even try to sneak my thumb in while nursing, but Mommy doesn’t let me.)  This month I discovered something new to grab and chew:  TOES!!  Those things are the great fun!  I also have a fun big brother who likes to play with me and make me smile.  He’s even gotten a laugh or two.  He can make some crazy noises!!

I had my 4 month doctor’s appointment today.  I weigh 11 pounds 9.5 ounces (14%) and am 24.25 inches long (52%).  My doctor was very surprised at my rolling capabilities and is very pleased with my development.  She even says I can start some “solid” foods, but Mommy says we may wait another couple of weeks before doing that.  The shots weren’t any fun, but I calmed right down after they were done.  They tired me out though, so I’m off to nap.  Later!
