Texas vs. Michigan
So, there’s good news and there’s bad news. The good news is that Texas (my alma mater) has leapfrogged Cal to a fourth place ranking and will play in the Rose Bowl. The bad news is that they will be playing Michigan.
Well, let me clarify. The bad news isn’t so much that Texas is playing Michigan, but that a certain member of the household hails from the state where you can own a handgun at age twelve and is a big fan of the football team. This will be a good test of our young marriage. (Can you say “annulment”?)
I have other bad news. The Rose Bowl starts at 3:30pm CST on Saturday, January 1st. We have a wedding to attend that day. Guess when it starts! Yeah, come on! Guess! Yup, 3:00pm. Fantastic. (Don’t get me wrong, it’s a real blessing to be a part of this wedding…)
Well, it figures. Seems we have a history of weddings during the Rose Bowl in this family. That’s right Jill, I’m talking to you.

Yup, and it started with your wife’s parents … who got married after the 1965 Rose Bowl. Hmmm … Michigan also played that year and, as I recall, they won big time! (Perhaps I should pray that such will be repeated.)
Hmmm … How come you got married in April?

They also beat Washington State in 1998 when Jill got married. I like the trend I’m seeing!
Why did we get married in April? Some of us have our priorities straight…. =)
    Go Blue!

You can’t work thru conflicts if you don’t have any!!!! I think there is a saying that goes…. An arguement makes a marriage grow stronger. :)
