Obligatory update

I realized it’s been a full week since the last journal entry, so here you go. Jodi and I went down to Wimberley on Saturday for a couple of reasons; 1) to find hairdressers for the wedding hairdos and 2) to finish sanding Jodi’s new breakfast table. Both were accomplished, with a note on the hairdo thing. We have a mutual friend who grew up in Wimberley who now goes to FEFC. I ran into her at church Sunday morning and asked if she had any recommendations about hair people in Wimberley, although we had kind of already made a decision (pending decent prices and availability). She said she had done her own hair for her own wedding. Hmmm…ok.. Turns out that’s what she does! She enjoys it, does that for friends, and will be in Wimberley the day of our wedding! So, most likely, she’ll be doing Jodi’s and two other people’s mops. That’ll probably save us close to a hundred dollars! Woohoo!
I finished the sanding on the table at Dad’s place. It was sprinkling a little bit, so I was hesitant to try to bring it home, but the legs are removable, and I had a protective blanket, so we just put it in the cab of the truck. I put the stain on it yesterday (Golden Pecan), and will do a coat of polyurethane tonight hopefully. I’m thinking that I should probably do four coats of poly on the top surface since it is a table that will see heavy use. I’m not sure how many coats most tables get. Next we gotta find chairs. Maybe we should register for chairs for the wedding.
